Recipe: Vegan Cheese Sauce

Being a vegan, it is difficult to make comfort foods involving cheese that taste close to the real deal. This cheese sauce does it for me. I've used it on chili-cheese fries, Philly cheesesteaks, and anything else requiring a cheese sauce.

Vegan Cheese Sauce

1/4 c. nutritional yeast
1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. paprika
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1 c. water
2 Tbsp. vegan butter (Earth Balance Buttery Spread)

In a saucepan, combine dry ingredients.

Whisk in water. Continue to whisk constantly over medium heat until mixture is thick and bubbly. Remove from heat.

Stir in vegan butter until melted, then whisk together.
